What is Clinical Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is about more than just weight loss or quit smoking (though it is a very natural and painless way to do both of those). Hypnotherapy is also about releasing stress, anxiety and even trauma to allow you to be a calmer, more confident and better version of yourself.

The so-called trance state is a naturally occurring state of mind that we experience everyday whenever we take a break or relax and science tells us that we need such breaks to help us to process our experiences. These twilight states of consciousness are often more evident as we are drifting into sleep at night or conversely as we’re waking up in the morning.

Hypnotherapy is a way to safely leverage these states of consciousness to allow positive changes to occur at a subconscious level. Our subconscious minds hold all of our habitual patterns of behaviour and that is why hypnosis can be such an empowering experience.

What happens during a hypnosis session? Well to start we just have a chat about whatever issues you would like to address and then we do some hypnotherapy. It’s really a lot like a guided meditation during which you will still be quite aware in certainly in control. However, it is likely that you will also experience that twilight trance state your own unique way.

For some people it may just be an awareness that you’re in a deeply relaxed and meditative state. For others there may feelings of heaviness or even lightness, some people report a tingling feeling. Though during the hypnosis session you are likely feel good and quite relaxed. After the session you’re likely to feel great and empowered.
